The newly formed group recognized the tremendous economic power within the geographical boundaries of the West Central Florida and its relations to local, state, national and worldwide impact. The Tampa, Hillsborough region host two International Airports, rail, and shipping ports along with a network of roads and highways that occupy the attention of the entire free world markets. The economic power of several billion dollars rest with the seat of local government and businesses alone. The growth both in population and economics dictates the attention of business minded persons worldwide.
The globe signifies the realm of commerce influenced by its geographical location of Tampa, Hillsborough County and the State of Florida being central to the North and South American Continents and between two oceans the Atlantic and Pacific. The ship between the continental Africa and the North and South Americas highlight the importance of seagoing vessels and seaborne trading located in the region. Tampa host one of the deepest seaports between New York City and the Panama Canal which allows for large cargo ships to dock and load and off load merchandise.
The airplane high above the globe in the logo represent the international connectivity via air cargo available through two International Airports located in Tampa and Clearwater, Florida. Together they constitute one of the largest International airports in the world. Both airports are less than 30 minutes apart by ground transportation. Air freight represents one of the world's largest industries to carry everything from passengers to fish, flora, mail, machines and many other airborne deliverable goods.
The air, land and sea capacity is reflected in the logo of the Suncoast African American Chamber of Commerce's logo.
